Corks, Quirks, Serious Questions: Kathryn Ravenscraft of Bangor Humane Society

This week on Cocktails with Friends, Bob brings along Kathryn Ravenscraft of the Bangor Humane Society to talk about tails— cocktails and animal tails alike! Over a Grasshopper with eggnog, the two share an in-depth conversation about the means of responsible animal ownership, and the key ingredient in the cocktail of a well-connected family: compassion.

Despite the puns being slung left and right, the conversation gets quite deep. Some animals need a lot, and the homes that wish to take them in will need to do a lot for them. The Humane Society actually does quite a lot to keep animals out of shelters by supporting the families who need a little help with their pets. After all, Kathryn stresses, pets are not impulse purchases or gifts: they’re commitments.
